How can PRP help me?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a regenerative therapy that’s used to stimulate your body’s own natural healing processes. Your body is full of powerful healing compounds, known as growth factors, that jump into action to regenerate new tissues when you have an injury. PRP treatments involve extracting these regenerative growth factors, as well as other healing compounds, and creating a solution made from your very own cells.

When injected into targeted areas, PRP triggers the development of cells in that specific area. For instance, if you have deep wrinkles acne scars, PRP injections start triggering collagen and skin tissue production, so your skin heals has more support from the deepest layers. Your Eclipse PRP skin rejuvenation treatment is even ideal for smoothing out your skin, minimizing the effects of aging, and restoring a more even skin tone and texture.

Or for hair restoration purposes if you have hair loss or thinning hair, PRP injections have been proven to stimulate hair growth and prolong the growth phase of your hair cycle. Over time, you can gradually regrow your own, natural hair.

What happens during a PRP session?

Your PRP session at Integrity MediCenter-MediSpa begins with a consultation to ensure this regenerative solution is right for you. Once you and the team at Integrity MediCenter-MediSpa decide on your treatment plan, they will conduct a simple blood draw from your arm.

While you wait, your blood is placed in a centrifuge, which spins your blood and forces platelets to separate from the rest of your blood components. This concentration of platelets activates the release of countless growth factors and other cells that are essential for healing. As soon as your PRP is ready — it takes just about 10 minutes in the centrifuge — the activated blood will be injected into multiple spots along your treatment area, or it will be microneedled into the areas of concern.

Don’t worry about discomfort from the injections. If needed, the team can apply a topical numbing cream while your PRP is in the centrifuge, making the process much more comfortable for you.

How long does it take for PRP to work?

Because PRP treatments are regenerative and encourage healing and cell turnover, it takes time for you to truly experience the benefits of your cells hard at work. Facial PRP treatment is offered as a single session, and you should start noticing gradual improvement within the first couple of months, with maximum effects seen 3-6 months after the treatment.

PRP treatment packages for hair restoration offered at Integrity MediCenter-MediSpa typically include four monthly sessions, although your specific course of treatment may vary.  As with the facial rejuvenation, you should start noticing a gradual improvement within the first couple of months of your PRP treatment plan. In many cases, you can achieve optimal results in as quickly as six months.
